The Scottish National Operative Plasterers' Federal Union was founded in 1888 as an amalgamation of many local plasterers' societies throughout Scotland. In 1939 it became the Scottish National Operative Plasterers' Protective and Benefit Federal Union and in 1945 the Scottish National Plasterers' Union. The union merged with the National Association of Operative Plasterers in 1967, one year before that union transferred engagements to the Transport and General Workers' Union.
